About the Project

"The Whole Wide World"  is an interactive animated movie/game set in the small New England town of Oak Gardens, Massachusetts in the summer of 1992 — but seen entirely from the perspective of six young mice who call the neighborhood home.

It’s a story about friendship, courage, and the moment in childhood when the world suddenly feels bigger, stranger, and full of possibility. Inspired by classic animated adventures and narrative games where your choices shape the story, "The Whole Wide World" blends heartfelt character drama with branching paths and multiple endings.

So, what kind of project is this? It’s part animated film, part choice‑driven game.

You watch the story unfold, but at key moments you decide what the characters do — and those decisions change relationships, reveal secrets, and ultimately determine which of the eight endings you reach.

The story follows six mouse kids — each with their own fears, hopes, and hidden strengths — as they navigate a mystery that sweeps through Oak Gardens. Their friendships are the heart of the narrative, and your choices influence how they grow, clash, or come together.

   The themes include:

- childhood imagination and bravery

- the bonds that form under pressure

- the magic and danger of exploring a world built for giants

- and how small choices ripple into big consequences

I’ve always loved stories where the emotional stakes feel real, even when the characters are tiny or the world is fantastical. I’m building "The Whole Wide World" to capture that feeling — the sense of being small in a big place, but still capable of changing everything.

This blog, The Mouse‑Eye View, is where I’m documenting the entire creative journey: writing, worldbuilding, character development, branching structure, inspirations, and behind‑the‑scenes process.

If you’re curious about interactive storytelling, animation, or just love a good adventure, I’m glad you’re here.
